The Australian Catholic University was established on the 1st of January in 1991 when tertiary institutions like Sydney’s Catholic College of Education,Victoria’s Institute of Catholic Education, Queensland’sMcAuley College, and Australian Capital Territory’sSignadou College of Education came together to form the public University. These institutions were established back in the 1800s when religious institutes and orders prepared scholars and nurses for their Catholic schools and hospitals.
The Australian Catholic University is situated in Brisbane, Queensland and has seven campuses in total. Over 29,000 students are enrolled in seven campuses scattered across Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, Ballarat, Adelaide and two campuses in Sydney’s Strathfield andNorth Sydney. In addition, the Rome Centre was inaugurated in 2015 in collaboration with the Catholic University of America. The Australian Catholic University is affiliated with the ACCU, IFCU, Universities Australia, OUA and the ICUSTA.
