Question
Task: Develop a set of three key metrics in your project management assignment that provide an overview of the performance of the Indigenisation of the Curriculum Project - relating to the Master of Project Management Pilot Project.
Answer
Slide 1: Introduction
• Theproject management assignmentpresentation has developed an understanding of the Indigenisation of the curriculum.
• In relation to a recommendation from fictional Audit findings
• The project Board has been developed reflecting the form advocated by PRINCE2.
• The key stakeholders have been identified
• The role of the Project Board has been discussed
• Stakeholders are mapped within the interesting grid
• Development of key metrics
Notes to theproject management assignment: The project management assignmentpresentation has been developed in response to the three recommendations provided earlier to enhance the scope of Indigenisation of the curriculum Project initiated by CQ University. The presentation has discussed all the necessary aspects such as Project Board identification with their roles, stakeholder identification and key metrics to enhance the scope of Indigenisation of the Curriculum Project.
Slide 2: Indigenisation of the curriculum in theproject management assignment
• Indigenisation of the curriculum includes identification of Indigenous knowledge all over the teaching practice through Reconciliation Action Plan(RAP)
• It is challenging; however, it benefits every team, student, graduate, and surrounding community.
• It empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander(ATST) people throughout their knowledge and learning system.
• CQ University is found to be committed to this particularproject management assignmentcurriculum.
Notes: CQ University has initiated the Indigenisation of the project management assignmentcurriculum that includes recognising and bringing in awareness of Indigenous knowledge all over the teaching practices (RAP). The entire process of the curriculum is challenging however it benefits the entire team members and every associate that shares a relationship with the institutions.
Slide 3: Overview of PRINCE2
• Project In-Controlled Environment (PRINCE2) is considered a project management approach.
• Above 150 countries use it all over the world(RSM, 2017).
• PRINCE2 takes up development on an everyday bases
• It is appreciated and accepted as the leading method for project control.
• Multiple practitioners are being benefited from PRINCE2 methods.
Notes: Project In Controlled Environment (PRINCE2) is considered a project management approach, and it has been found in more than 150 different countries worldwide. The method takes up development on an everyday basis and has been appreciated and accepted as a leading project control method by most practitioners as they have benefited from it tremendously while writing project management assignments.
Slide 4: Project Board
• Project Board evaluates projects through reports and controls in the Indigenisation of the curriculum.
• Four areas have been identified as Project Board processes, i.e., initiation, stage boundaries, Ad hoc direction and project closure(ILX Group, 2017).
• These processes provide an opportunity for Project Board to make a key decision.
• Also, provides information on the existing stages of the project
Notes:Project Board is responsible for managing and controlling the entire project management assignmentreviewing report and control process. Four significant processes have been identified that inform the project Board regarding the key aspect of the project.
Slide 5: Project Board of Indigenisation of the curriculum
Notes: The above image in theproject management assignmentdeveloped demonstrates the Project Board of Indigenisation of the curriculumreflecting the form advocated by PRINCE2. Since CQ University is ruled by the CQUniversity Councilthat counts the Chancellor as the top management thus, considering the fact Chancellor has been kept at the top of the Project Board. It has been continuously followed by other essential project associates that have been demonstrated in the above structure in the project management assignment.
Slide 6: Five key Stakeholders for the project management assignment
• Stakeholders are the centre of the organisation (McGrath & Whitty, 2017).
• The five key stakeholders identified in the Indigenisation of the project management assignmentcurriculum are as follows:
1. CQUniversity management
2. Community
3. Students
4. Staff and
5. Project managers
Note: The five identified stakeholders in the Indigenisation of the curriculum are CQUniversity management, project managers, staff, community and students. Since the University has implemented the initiatives in its existing operating structure, it includes all the existing associates as crucial stakeholders that work collaboratively for the curriculum.
Slide 7: Role of Project Board
• Project Board in theproject management assignmentcomes with oversight responsibility regarding the work the project has been carrying out (HARRIN, 2015)
• The main role is to increase the possibility of project success.
• To make an adequate decision at the right time.
• To make every team member align with work collaboratively
• To monitor the entire process of the project
Notes: The roles and responsibilities of the Project Board are significant since they are the ones to look after the entire process of the project’s life cycle. Since the project management assignment, in this case, is based on the University's curriculum, it was necessary to identify the role of the Project board.
Slide 8: Interest Grid
Notes: The above-developed Interest grid in theproject management assignmentdemonstrates the stakeholders of the Indigenisation of the curriculum of CQ UniversityRAP initiatives. The involved stakeholders come with different approaches and skills that help in contributing to the success of reconciliation. The stakeholders have been identified accordingly and are placed based on their influence and level of interest.
Slide 9: Key metrics (Productivity)
• Productivity provides organisation, and it relates to considerable associate advantages(Hanaysha, 2016)
• Productivity is used as one of the keep metrics used in the project.
• It is relevant in the case of the Indigenisation of the curriculum initiatives of CQ University.
• It will help in assisting the entire project conducted within the University’s curriculum.
Note: Productivity has been identified in theproject management assignmentas one of the key metrics for the Indigenisation of the curriculumas it will denote the rate of project success. It is one of the highly used metrics in projects that helps the project manager and organisation to determine the status of the project and the need for intervention.
Slide 10: Community satisfaction
• Here community denotes the people surrounding the institutions.
• Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
• The level of their satisfaction is used as a key metric.
• Satisfactiondenotes certain accepting obligations with specific values and standards (Potter &Cantarero, 2014).
Notes: Since CQ University as per the project management assignmentaims to integrate diverse culture within its curriculum that encourages every individual equal opportunity and access and the existing community plays an active part in this initiative. Community satisfaction is used as a key metric because unless they are not happy with the approach, the entire project of Indigenisation of curriculum will fail miserably.
Slide 11: Staff satisfaction
• Staff satisfaction denotes motivation, retention and attainment of targeted objectives (Ayyagari&Lathabhavan, 2020).
• It can be used as a metric similar to community satisfaction.
• The staff’s morale is directly related to enhanced and effective work.
• A satisfied staff develops better work more effectively
Notes: Staff satisfaction as per the project management assignmentis identified as another metric to demonstrate the overview of the Indigenisation of the Curriculum. It is because their motivation will determine the efficiency of the entire project, and they are the main subordinates within this initiative that needs specific consideration.
Slide 12: Conclusion
• The presentation has highlighted all the components in relation to a recommendation from fictional Audit findings.
• Indigenisation of the Curriculum of CQ University has been thoroughly reviewed for the development of the presentation.
• Key stakeholders and metrics have been identified.
Notes: The project management assignmentpresentation has highlighted components in relation to a recommendation from fictional Audit findings.Indigenisation of the curriculum as an initiative to empower Indigenous knowledge and culture has been considered in the presentation. The key stakeholders and key metrics havebeen identified that play an active part in enhancing the project.
