Crime is a behaviour which can be traced across human history since the dawn of civilization. This has resulted in practically every society implementing strict rules related to the crimes being committed by its member of society (Hale, Hayward, Wahidin, & Wincup, 2013). Despite strict rules and punishments, crime continues to be registered across the globe and seems to be increasing as the global population rises.

What does your usage of the media say about you?

The media has helped open up considerable information to the public thus allowing for in-depth investigations and research to be performed to a level never achieved in the past. Today the media allows researchers locate important information related to their field of interest in an instant (Davies, Francis, & Jupp, 2011). This has allowed for a wider array of information to be gathered thus improving research accuracy.

Has your usage changed? Reflect upon your own use of media sources – what is “normal” for you?

With easy access to media via the internet, collecting data related to crime has become easier thus making it easier to research and understand Criminology research assignment (Surette, 2014). This has, in turn, resulted in me indulging even more towards the field with the hope of identifying reasons associated with people opting to undertake crime even when they don’t need to. How could you relate criminological theory to these?

Petty Crime involves people committing a crime without the need to commit the crime and mainly out of thrill. This has been observed mostly among teenagers but can be carried along in to adult hood that retain the urge to commit the petty crime into adulthood. A common petty crime which has attracted considerable research is the breaking of windows which has resulted in the coining of the broken windows theory (Reviews, 2013). As children, many people would remember fleeing playground when the baseball broke a home’s window. Rather than sympathize with the homeowner most children’s and teenagers will scatter laughing at the incident rather than apologize. Research by James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling shows that this tendency to fly from the screen viewed as entertainment thus it embeds itself in the brain as a form of entertainment thus resulting in some people carrying this habit into their adulthood. On the other hand, children who do not flee and face the enraged homeowners tend to overcome this eager as they associate the incident with anger and rage thus avoid practicing it in future.

The most common form of crime identify yield during the week of investigations was related to traffic offenses. Traffic offenses tend to be the most commonly overlooked rules which attract considerable attention and this is not only limited to the drivers of vehicles but also related to pedestrians and police. Research shows that the traffic department registered the highest number of crimes which has resulted in the police and traffic department being classified as among the most corrupt departments of most nations (Critique, 2012). Pedestrians, as well as vehicles owners, tend to overlook laws and in many situations ignore traffic signals. This leads to accidents and encourage corruptions by prompting the offender to offer bribes to the authorized so as to be overlooked. When calculated over the long term perspective this approach actually costs more than one would actually need to pay by maintaining their paperwork and abiding by traffic rules yet most people continue breaking the law. In such situation, the political system cannot be blamed since it’s the public who promote crime which leads to the authorities utilizing those opportunities to be corrupt thus it’s the public’s fault.

Media houses and news channels play an important role towards broadcasting information related to different topics but it’s important to keep in mind that not all the information is authentic and genuine. This makes it important for the business researcher to review and only collect the important clips of information which can be used towards the research and investigation (Jahan, Edwards, & Bahraminasab, 2016). Once must avoid focusing on the facts and figures delivered by the news and media houses since many are exaggerated. One must be able to review the available information and pick the important points which can then be independently investigated to determine their importance and be used for farther investigations can be done. Besides securing accurate information it allows the individuals develop unique ideas which can be used towards the research and development of important findings.

Criminology research assignment is an area which is registering consistent growth in every society and has been covered from an in-depth perspective on the resources accessed to perform the research (Vito & Maahs, 2015). The information accessed has helped deliver an important understanding related to the nature and reasons associated to crime which have been used to deliver important insight towards developing well research paper on the subject covering all aspects of the concern.

Conclusion

Crime has been identified to be something humans-beings tend to pursue and gain a thrill from thus making it a complex topic for investigation. To secure important information and findings it’s important to identify a field of crime committed globally and investigate the issue with the intention of determining the root because so the cause of crime can be eliminated on future generations.
