Established by the HELP Education Group in 1986, HELP University is an amalgamation of the HELP College of Arts and Technology and the HELP Academy. The institution was initially called the HELP Institute before changing the name to HELP University College. The name was later changed to HELP University, which is the present name. This is a private university that has seven faculties and graduate schools. The seven faculties include the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Multimedia, the Faculty of Communication, the Faculty of Law and Government, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of University Foundation Studies. The University is also accredited by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education, known as the Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi. In addition, the programs offered by the University is accepted by several major and prestigious professional bodies and organizations.
HELP University has two campuses in total. One being in Kuala Lumpur and another in Shah Alam. Located just 10 minutes from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, the main campus is called HELP Damansara Heights. Providing students with excellent academic and residential amenities, the campus also offers huge space for sports like volleyball, basketball and futsal. The second campus, Subang 2 is located in Taman Subang Delima in Shah Alam, spread over a sprawling area of 23 acres. This campus houses the psychology and business faculties. In addition, the campus houses a lecture theatre which also doubles up as a multipurpose hall that can accommodate around 500 students comfortably, two lecture halls that can accommodate 100 students each and three academic blocks that house the teaching and administration facilities for around 2500 students.
There are several diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate courses offered by the University in addition to numerous professional and certificate courses in many subjects. This includes subjects like finance, business, accounting, engineering, communication, management, language, economics, hospitality, IT, law, psychology, tourism and arts. The University is home to several international students, with around 25 per cent of the student population coming in from overseas. The University has also entered several collaborations with a number of prestigious international universities from China, Denmark, Australia, France, Mauritius, Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, Myanmar, Nepal, South Korea, New Zealand, the UK and US, Vietnam and Canada. The University also has a committed Student Placement Centre or SPC that can help students land better jobs and internships in some of the most reputable business houses and organizations.
